European Summer League Player has Tryout with Leb Gold U22 team!

European Summer League player Connor Tuxford just recently returned from a week long tryout with Club Ourense Baloncesto’s U22 team. Their first team is in Spain’s Leb Gold (2nd Division). Connor took part in Europrobasket’s European Summer League. He left early for a tryout with an Eba team that has another Leb Gold team above it. This is his second tryout since the Summer League which ended less than two weeks ago. Congrats to Connor, we look forward to seeing you play in Spain this next season!!

Professional Coach Visits Europrobasket!

Europrobasket would like to thank Professional Greek coach Dimitrios Kyriakou for his visit to the academy. Dimitrious came to Europrobasket with a long history as a head coach, assistant coach and director/coordinator for different professional and collegiate programs. His most recent experience comes as a Head Coach for the Greek National Basketball Team to the Maccabiah games. Also as the Head Coach of The Anatolia College Basketball team which is in the 2nd National Division in Greece. Other experiences are with the Jordanian’s National Team in the U18 and U16 groups, Pierkos/Arhelaos B.C., AJAX Evosmos, and Anagennisi-Floga as a head coach in the 2nd division. As well as numerous clubs in the 1st Division Greece as an assistant coach such as Rethymno Aegean B.C., Kavala B.C., and Iraklis B.C. Not to mention working as an assistant coach in the United States for various NCAA programs such as Furman University NCAA DI and the University of Nevada NCAA DI.

In all these years and experiences with various professional and NCAA Division I programs he has been very successful with a 255-65 win loss record!! He’s been the Undefeated National champion with Aris U18 Junior team, State Champion with Aris U18 Junior team, State Champion with Iraklis U18 Junior Team, Champion of North and Central Greece with Iraklis U18 Junior Team, been to the final four with Aris and Iraklis U18 Junior teams, brought Aetos Kilkis to the 3rd place position with the best record in the clubs history, and received coach of the year for juniors! The list goes on and on for this great coach!

The staff and players feel blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from a coach with such extensive knowledge and deep insight to the game of basketball on a World level. Thank you coach Dimitrios Kyriakou, we look forward to having you as a coach for the European Summer League in June!!

Europrobasket Player to Leb Plata!

Europrobasket player Michael Balogun left to his new team Óbila Club de Basket for the remainder of the season. Óbila is in the Leb Plata or Leb Silver league in Spain. Michael came to the academy in hopes of signing with a professional team. After just a week with Europrobasket International Academy he was sent to Morocco on a tryout with a first division team. He left due to differences with the team and was then sent to his new team Óbila Club de Basket to help them for the rest of the season. Michael played last season for Arkansas Tech University, NCAA DII. Thanks to partner agent Jose Orts for making the connection and Congrats Michael!!

Two Europrobasket Players Sign to Same Team!

Two Europrobasket players, Sequan Lawrence and Devonte Thomas signed to the same team in Sant Joan les Fonts here in Catalunya, Spain. The two players came to Europrobasket International Academy together in search for a team. Two weeks after their arrival they were offered a spots on the same team! These two friends are going to make a huge impact on their new team! Sequan Lawrence (below) plays the 3 position and can also help inside the paint.

Devonte Thomas (below) plays the shooting guard position but can also help at the point guard position.

Both played in their first game with their new squad putting up impressive numbers. Devonte Thomas with 21 points and Sequan Lawrence with 20 points!! They helped their new team secure the win in last weekend! Congrats Devonte and Sequan! Keep up the great work!

Great Player Performances!!

Europrobasket player Keith Dean had an amazing game last round against Basquet Sitges, putting up outstanding numbers with 31 pts, 6/10 2pt, 5/7 3pt, 4 rebs and a 28 point valoration!!! Keith had more than half of the points of his team, with the team scoring 54 pts!!! Great work Keith!!

 

 

Europrobasket player Greg Womack had a couple of great games with his team UBA Almendralejo earning MVP of his group two weeks in a row!! Europrobasket Head Coach New Head Coach of Unigirona Euroleague Team!!

Europrobasket’s first head coach Xavi Fernandez just became the head coach of Unigirona Woman’s Euroleague Team, and defending Spanish league champions! Xavi is one of the more well known names in Spanish basketball during his time, having a dominant career as a shooting guard. Playing many years in FC Barcelona and in the Barcelona Olympics, Xavi has gained respect from everywhere in Europe, and the rest of the world. This is a new and very big step in his future as a coach. Congrats on your new position as head coach and good luck with the rest of the season Xavi!!

Europrobasket player Chae Philips signed to play with Bescanó in Girona, Spain for the rest of the season. Chae was part of the Europrobasket Program in December and has played the last two games with his new team. Last game he had an impressive 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals with a 28 efficiency rating! Europrobasket Player Signs in Oliva, Spain!

Europrobasket player Rashad Gill signed in Oliva, Spain. He moved into his apartment last weekend and is registered to play in next Saturdays game. Rashad came to the academy because he wanted to give playing overseas a good shot. His last year of college was at Southern Polytechnic University in 2010-2011. Coming from a NAIA school made it difficult to get the serious looks a player needs to get an opportunity overseas. After just one week here at Europrobasket International Academy Rashad received interest from a team. He accepted there offer and left to his team within two weeks of arriving to the academy. We would like to wish Rashad the best of luck with his new team and his fist experience playing basketball in Europe!

Europrobasket Player on Tryout in Plasencia, Spain!!

Europrobasket player Montreal Holley is on a tryout with a team in Plasencia, Spain. Montreal was recently in a bad situation in North Africa and decided to leave before things got worse. He came to Europrobasket to search for a better situation. After just one week of training he recieved two offers. One was a two year contract. He chose the one he felt was best for him and is now with his new team. Montreal is a strong and physical 7 foot center. He will get a lot of interest from teams because of his size and ability to move. A few months with his new team should refine his skills and give him the opportunity to move up. We wish Montreal the best of luck!

Europrobasket player Keith Dean signed with his first overseas team this past week. Keith was a part of the Europrobasket program for one month before signing with his team CB Ciutat Vella in Barcelona, Spain. Keith went to a smaller University a few years ago making it nearly impossible to get interest from teams or agents overseas. Working hard and showing his true potential in the Europrobasket Professional Placement Program gave him the looks he needed to receive an offer. Keith’s first game will be this evening in Barcelona on his home court. Good luck Keith!

Outstanding Performance by Europrobasket Player Greg Womack!!

Outstanding first game for Europrobasket Player Greg Womack, playing for his new team Union Baloncesto Almendralejo. Greg’s first games were part of a tournament in the region called “Copa Extremadura”, where the some of the best teams in the area come together to compete. Greg’s first game he lead his team for the Victory with 22pts, 7rebs, 4ast, and 1 stl with a Valuation of 23!! His second game his team took a loss but Greg continued to put up solid numbers finishing with 12pts, 8rebs, and 2asts with a Valuation of 7. Europrobasket player Greg Womack signed with his first team overseas after 7 weeks in the Europrobasket International Academy program. Greg showed staff at the academy he was a solid guard, with a great outside shot and a great attitude. Josh White had another great performance for his team Adepla Basket, Plasencia. He also earned MVP for his group the 2nd consecutive week with 25pts, 17 rebs, 5 asts, 2 stls with a valoration of 39!!

Ugljesa Bogdanovic had a great performace with his team Cintra Plasencia. 12 pts (%75 shooting), 9 rebs, an 1 asts with a valoration of 19!

Albert Del Hoyo had a great game for his team CB Igualada. Coming off the bench Albert put up 15pts, 1 reb and 1 asts to help his team win.

Huge first game for Europrobasket Player Joshua White!!

Europrobasket Player Nkosi Ali Signs in Spain for CB Myrtia!

Congrats to Nkosi Ali for signing his first professional contract after only a few weeks in the Europrobasket International Academy Program! Nkosi is a highly skilled big man that attracted a lot of attention after his time in Juco. After being cut short in his two seasons in a 4 year University, Nkosi was left searching for opportunities overseas. With not much video and stats it made it difficult to get the looks that his skill set and size deserved. He and his parents made the decision to invest in his future and attend the Europrobasket academy for a month program. It didnt take long for the staff to realize he had potential. After receiving interest from several teams in Spain, the academy staff decided to put Nkosi with a very successful Spanish Agent, Jose Orts. Jose signed him to CB Myrtia Murcia, and will continue to help him throughout his future here in Spain. Garny Garcia signs with CBM Benifaió!

Garny Garcia, a professional basketball player from the Dominican Republic signed with CBM Benifaió, through Europrobasket International Academy. Garny just finished his season in the DR, when his agent Nikola Bujukliev from Serbia contacted Europrobasket looking for a team to continue his career. CBM Benifaió just lost their inside player and Garny was a perfect replacement. This weekend will be his first game with his new team. Good luck this weekend and the rest of the season Garny!!

Special thanks to Xavi Vallmajó!!

Xavi Vallmajó has been the Europrobasket coach for just over the past month. Xavi has deep roots in Spanish basketball in Girona. Born in Barcelona February 19th 1975, he grew up and became one of the franchise players for CB Adepaf Figueres, just 30 mins North of Girona. He started on the lower levels of the club and later moved to the Primera Catalan Senior level and competed for 5 years as a point guard. His best years were when he made a jump to the ACB, the highest level in Spain, and played for 6 seasons from 1997 to 2003 with Valvi Girona. After that he moved between various teams in LEB Gold, second division in Spain. He finished his last season in his home club and now is the Sports Director of that same club CB Adepaf Figueres.

During his time here at the academy he taught players the fundamentals and basic systems of Spanish basketball. Developing them to be successful European basketball players. Through his extensive knowledge and coaching he helped prepare 5 players to successfully be placed on teams throughout Spain!! Congrats coach and thank you for your time here at the academy! We appreciate the hard work and look forward to future guest appearances!

Europrobasket and European Summer League Player Receives offer from Tryout!!

Europrobasket and European Summer League player Isao Kinoshita finished a tryout receiving an offer with a team just outside of Tarragona. Isao was with us at the European Summer League and now is here at the academy following up on teams interest. Isao is Europrobasket’s first Japanese player and we are proud to say he has his first offer from a team in Spain! Congrats Isao!!
